A Day in Montessori

Buena Vista Elementary School, a Public Montessori School is a sandbox….

A sandbox encourages children to play and share experiences alone or together. It provides an environment where children can practice and develop their independence.

A sandbox is an environment where children develop fine and gross motor skills, build hand-eye coordination, and strengthen their muscles.

Dr. Maria Montessori believed that "Play is the work of the child."

Here at Buena Vista Montessori, our children's experiences prepare them to work independently and reach a level of autonomy which, as they grow, allows them to gain new levels of understanding.
